TurboCalc™
Analyzing behaviour of thin-walled tubes under loading
Evaluation of structurally defective trees with very thin trunk shell walls.
For mature trees that have stopped growing in height, the shell wall radius rule (T/r less than 33% is unstable) is not relevant. Mature trees growing outwards can be very safe even when the shell-wall thickness is very thin. The TurboCalc™ software helps to understand and explain when these trees, which are often significant heritage or veteran trees, are approaching critical structural stability limits.
Input
Geometrical data of the tree and material properties.
Output
Behaviour of crosssectional geometry and material under bending until failure (graph, text and CSV-table).
