The Resistograph® is a sophisticated electronically controlled drill that provides unsurpassed accuracy in measuring the relative density of wood in trees and timber structures.
The Resistograph® was invented by Frank Rinn and this new series brings his decades of research and experience to the fore with practical design features that reflect user needs. The Resistograph® Series 650 is an extremely powerful machine. It is very fast, easy to use, dependable in all weather conditions, and very accurate. With fully electronic motors that automatically match feed rates and drilling speeds to actual wood conditions, this is the machine that delivers consistently reliable results. No need for complex output charts, you can watch the output results live on a smartphone, tablet, or printer as the drilling takes place. On your laptop, tablet or desktop use the sophisticated DECOM software to analyse the data and produce credible charts that properly reflect actual wood conditions.
The Series 650 machines come in several configuration to match differing needs and regions. The R650-PR is designed for power poles and timber structures. The R650-EA provides accurate data in conifers and boreal hardwoods. The R650-ED has more powerful motors and can handle extremely dense tropical hardwoods. For scientists requiring the ultimate machine for wood analysis the R650-SC is the top of the line model. It can be calibrated and used to determine actual wood density (R2 = 0.96). This is the model widely used by climate change and research scientists requiring the best there is in the world of resistance drilling.
“Using my Resistograph® from Rinntech all the time for age determination. Best and most accurate technology on the market since it was invented!”
