ArWiLo™
Tree wind load analysis software
The ArWiLo™ software is used to assess and analyse predicted wind loads and see how crown reductions might affect tree stability. Using the app Arwilo™ allows for the estimation of the crown area and the load center (this is the focused wind load pressure point in the crown). Using a phone or tablet in the field, take a photograph of the tree, map its geometry in the application, add in measurements of the tree crown, the trunk and the tree height. The wind load of the tree can be calculated from these parameters and serves as a reference for virtually shortened crown. See full details in the brochure.
Working steps
1. Take/Load picture
2. Mark major crown border points
3. Set stem base point x
4. Put in tree height
5. Calculate wind load
Optional features
Show line of height reduction
Show height reduction required for a given/desired load reduction.
Draw pruning cut-out and calculate corresponding load reduction.
Export image and calculated results to report/document.
